An auxiliary verb that is used with another verb to indicate its mood, as can, could, may, might, must, shall, should, will, and would: it has no special form in the third person singular and no present or past participle [the modal auxiliary “would” indicates the subjunctive mood in “We would go if we could”].

Both “Could” and “Would” can be used to ask for someone’s help or willingness.
I could bring that suitcase if you think that it is too heavy.
Cuold you lend me some money ?
Would you lend me soe money ?
To ask for permission, you can only use “could”.
could I have this brochure ?
you could take my papers if you want some.
“could” can also be used to express possibility.
I think you could spend more days to refresh your mind.

WOULD
Below are several uses of modal auxiliary “would”.
1. To indicate assumption, possibility :
* That indicate be a delicious soup, I suppose.
2. Would after “wish” expresses a strong desire.
* I wish you would not waste your time too much.
3. Too indicate a more polite invitation or request :
* would you have coffee with us, sometimes ?
* would you lend me your book, please ?
Example :
1. You can borrow my watch if yours is broken.
2. I need to buy some medicine, should I go alone ?
3. You must be able to sell yourselves, if you want to find a job soon.
4. Sir, my classmates and I would like to make a suggestion.
5. May I borrow your pen ?
